Surprise! ...or not

Mike is 24! He's getting so old :) This year I decided to try and surprise him with a Superhero party but failed miserably. I just can't surprise this kid! I thought I was doing really good but found out that he'd know from about the second day I sent out the invitations and that he even knew all of his birthday presents! Jeesh! Silly boy...he's worse than a kid! But that's why I love him and that's why this party was so much fun, so thanks for being you honey :) I still had him go away so I could decorate and so everyone could say surprise. We were able to surprise him with a visit from his little brother, Ryan, so that was nice. If you watch the video its kind of funny because Mike gets distracted and talks right over Ryan for about 20 seconds before he realizes he's there and gets excited :) Anyways, here are some pics, hope you enjoy!

Our little Stud Muffin Superhero. He just sat there for the longest time with the mask on and didn't try to take it off at all! Mike finally took it off when he came in because he felt bad for him, but I don't think Steven minded much! I found this website of how to make bleached t-shirts and was so excited to try it out. I immediately thought about doing a green lantern shirt for Mike, but I couldn't find a green t-shirt the right color without writing on it. Thanks Rexburg for your limited selection. So I made one for Steven! My first attempt didn't work out and I was so sad! :( but then I tried again with these results! The trick was to just dab the shirt instead of drench it so it doesn't seep under the vinyl. The onsie is an 12 month one so its kinda big on my little 4 month old, but at least he'll still be able to wear it for a while and funny thing, it fits just fine now! Such a big kid.

I forgot to blog his stats from his 4 month appointment, but he weighed 18.13 lbs which is in the 98% and was 25 inches long which is in the 96%. Once again the doctors weren't concerned saying that he's gaining weight great (duh!) and proportional so everything looks good. We've started him on rice cereal (see previous post) and are hoping his spitting up will start to become more minimal now. It hasn't worked so far, but you can always hope for the best right?

Green Lantern Hanging out with Uncle Ryan who was awesome enough to drive up from Provo for the weekend. We were able to surprise Mike with this which was the best! Thanks again Ryan for coming down!

The food and posters I moved out from Steven's room for the occasion. Sadly I couldn't get the chocolate fountain to work so we ended up just using it kinda like a fondue fountain for dipping. Still worked I guess.

Some of the decorations.

The Sears, Brittany and Ezra with their little guy Ezekiel who is two weeks younger than Steven, then the Sterlings, Kiersten and Robbie and Steven and Uncle Ryan. I didn't get a picture of Kendra and Jacob Barnes or Emily, Kyle and Gracie Steadman, but they were here too
Ashley Topham with her little girls Chloe and Norah, then Lindsay Schenk and Allison and Michael Greer...Allison is expecting :)

The Bartons...Jeff is Magneto from X-Men (notice the floating fork he's controling?) Their little girl is Cat Woman, and Katie is super awesome for making baby #2. They find out what they're having this week! So exciting! :)

Daddy with his little Superhero in training :)
(Notice his green lantern ring?)

Mike's favorite Superheros are #1 Ironman, #2 Captain America #3 Thor. SOO we played three games designated to these Superheros. Ironman's game was to see who was the strongest and so the males and females arm wrestled. I was going to just have the guys do this, but some of the girls wanted to get in on the fun too! For Thor I made some brown bean bags and then drew Thor's hammer on it and this was suppose to take out the villains (Loki, Frost Giants, and the Destroyer) in the bean bag toss. Captain America was when we had two tiny girls go from skinny like Steve Rogers, to buff after he was injected. Who every had the most balloons after 45 seconds won! Above is a picture of Kiersten getting stuffed.

Lindsay getting stuffed...right next to her is the bean bag game with the Thor bean bags on top of Loki, the Destroyer, and two Frost Giants.

Our very own finished Captain America's!

Cat Woman (Kaylee) and Batman (Koen)

The final product of the cake...I was running late and didn't get it done in time for the party :( so we had it today instead for his actual birthday!

My inspiration.

Happy Birthday Michael! We sure do love you and are so glad that you're in our lives and are such a great friend, Daddy and Husband! You're the only Superhero we need :)

Rice Cereal!!

We were able to go to our good friends the Crowther's baby blessing. Little Brooklyn is an adorable little girl and had amazing parents. Here are a few pictures and then enjoy pics of Steven's first encounters with Rice Cereal!

Oh, she's pretty!! :)

We were glad that we were able to make it, thanks for the invite!

Open Wide!!!

Yum?

Okay, what is this stuff Mom?

I'm not so sure about this...

Okay, its food, so I'll eat it and love every bite!! :)

This year for Christmas we were able to go home to Jerome and it was so much fun! I love Christmas so much...one of our traditions growing up was to count all of my Mom's nativities. Since my Dad's stroke we haven't been able to do that till this year. It was great to have them all up again! Anyways, enjoy the pictures! Thanks again for letting us come down, it was so fun and wonderful! :)

While on his mission Mike had sent me the Nashville Tribute to the Prophet and to Pioneers CDs and then we went to a lot of the concerts that they had here in Rexburg so of course I had to get him the new CD they came out with which is a tribute to the missionaries. We're still trying to decide if we like it as much as the others, but I still think my favorite is the Tribute to the Prophet Joseph Smith.

Santa was good to us this year! Almost too good...My Christmas was perfect with a hand painting of the Bountiful Temple done by our good friend Brittany Sears. Its absolutely beautiful and the detail is incredibly amazing! Don't believe me, come and see :)

Steven with his loot...not too shabby of a Christmas!

My sister Jeanine and I sporting our new headbands that Mom gave us-Thanks Mom! :)
